So. Um. It's been awhile? Things got pretty hectic after my last post. And by hectic I just mean being pregnant, growing a human, fulfilling my duty as a human being...ya know. Pregnancy...It's a bitch, I'll tell you what. I thought a lot about this blog when I was sleeping...eating...and ya know...pushing a human out. I am hoping to take the next few days to write down some things like my birth story, what motherhood has been like for the last ~2 months and also some things Tim and I have managed to do around the house (Yes, even with a newborn).

Well well well...where the hell have I been? I promise I have a good excuse - I've been sleeping. Why, you ask? Because I'm growing a freaking human. That's right - holy shit I'm pregnant! Tim and I haven't been shy about the fact that we were very on the fence about having children. We have been married 4 1/2 years and have had our fair share of questioning whether we'd rather live that DINK (Dual income no kids) life...or partake in the expansion of the world's population. Animal Photos - Etsy Crib - Amazon Dresser - Ikea Mirror - Wayfair Rug - Overstock Lighting - Wayfair Pillows - WayfairSo far on our purchased list is the crib which came in yesterday. I have plans (to ask Tim) to put it together. We have an Ikea trip planned in January to grab the dresser and probably 84 other things I will just need in the moment. I am excited to fill this room with these items and some other pops of color.
New York City - the greatest City in the WORLD! Or at least, that is what my Uber driver Vlad told me as we came out of the Queens Midtown Tunnel. I've heard so many people say this, and yes, I do love New York City - but even just a quick 3 day vacation there left me exhausted. I was there to visit my best friend, Bekka, who has lived there for about 4 or 5 years. Every time I visit we have plans that usually include: |
Meet Pepper. This 5 1/2 year old dog came into our lives right as I was graduating college. I got a phone call from Tim with a smile in his voice, "A dog stopped at boss' house and had puppies...do you want one?" He sent me a photo with a few to pick from. We believe the mother was a Labrador and was actually pregnant by two different male dogs (YUP that's a thing): a pitbull & a chow. We ended up picking the "runt" of the litter, the pit-mix, and ended up keeping her name because it fit her too well - Pepper. |
